ZUNSHIKO

Art for the eyes and souls. Bold art with vivid colors.

Artist CVArt of ZUNSHIKO by Vio Fdr
Artistic Approach
My technique is built on layers - many layers of color, painted over, reapplied. The surface of each painting reads like a geological map, revealing the history of its creation. I work primarily with acrylic, which I consider the 21st century's fresco: fast-drying, texture-rich, and capable of extraordinary depth.
My current focus is large-format work (120 x 100 cm and larger) that functions as a centerpiece - art that doesn't just hang on a wall, but grab the vision in the room.
Artist Statement
As a Vienna-based contemporary figurative and abstract painter, my Bachelor of Art education rooted in European fine art traditions, but creating work that trying to bring something unusual, new and fresh.
I am a European painter building a series for the US 250th. Just as America was half-built in 1776, these canvases show the structural bones. I invite collectors to invest in the process of a golden age, not just its polished result.
I work in series, always allowing the construction marks to remain visible, because a nation, like a painting, is never truly finished.
I work slowly, allowing each layer of paint to speak before adding the next.
My work is characterized by intentional incompletion. I leave my canvases half-revealed, allowing viewers to see the bones of each painting - the underpainting, the brushstrokes, the layers of construction. This approach reflects my philosophy that history, like art, is never truly finished.
I paint the message, stories about rebuild, re-emerge, breakthrough, rising from the ashes.
Currently, I am completing a six-painting cycle in acrylic on canvas (120 x 100 cm each) for the 250th anniversary of the United States. Three works place a woman and man in 19th-century costume against the beach. Three works bring together a young woman of an old era and a modern young woman seated side by side at the seaside. I have chosen message, the scene of seaside for its inlimited possibilites. Across all six, I use the tension between historical attire and contemporary colour to ask what a golden age really leaves behind.
Notable Series
"The Unfinished Golden Age" (2026)
The series at the moment uses intentional "half-revealed" imagery to reflect the idea that America's story is still being written.
My work is an exploration of the unfinished.
I believe that true "golden ages" are never static but are defined by the ongoing struggle. The physical "incompleteness" of the paint is a conscious choice (althought these will be ready until this September, but right now, on 06.07.2026, the paintings are half-done) - a metaphor for the USA itself, which is always becoming, always rebuilding.
As I said, the "unfinished" quality of my recent work is not a technical limitation but a a reflection of the idea that history is never complete, and that every generation must add its own layer to the story.
The work asks what we carry forward and what remains to be rebuilt. My studio practice combines classic figurative underpainting with thin, fast‑drying acrylic glazes, allowing the history of each brushstroke to remain visible.
The collection explores the concept of a "Golden Age" by deliberately showing the paintings in a state of "becoming," mirroring the unfinished nature of the USA.
Using vibrant acrylics, I construct narratives that are both chaotic and joyful, inviting the viewer to step into a "Golden Age" that is still being written. The series explores themes of rebuilding, and the continuity between past and future.
The paintings are built up in many layers, painted over and reapplied, so the surface itself tells a story of construction and renewal. My work is made for collectors and galleries seeking a statement centrepiece: bold, textured, and unapologetically present.

As an art teacher for 7 years, she learned a lot from her students. Some of her paintings have ideas from children’s drawings. She is using bold and vivid colors.
Her artist nickname, “Zunshiko,” is coming from her love of Japan and Japanese style. The name including “sunshine” as well.
THE UNFINISHED GOLDEN AGECOMING SOONMy new series of paintings are about the rebuilding the land, to use the old for something new and beautiful. The beautiful, joyful resurrection of the USA, and by the USA, all of the countries. My paintings are about to capture the unexpected angles. The resurrection power is so strong. It is borning from humality.I have my own resurrection story as well.26 years ago my soul became disabled, cripled, because I was mingled with the wrong people. After an incident, I was not able to function properly for 26 years, because I was switched off. My soul was switched off. My body became sicker, I had my addiction, I have gained a lot of weight. Couple of months ago Jesus healed my traumas, stopped the food addiction. I still have plenty of overweight, but I believe that God’s Reset working on my health as well and the healing process already started. The resurrection power gives me back the original joy for life and creativity. I did get up and started to walk again.Nothing is impossible with Jesus. He can rebuild people, he can rebuild countries, he can reconstruct to USA. He can unite the USA.THE UNFINISHED GOLDEN AGE (updated on 2026.06.26)
My 6 big paintings (120 x 100 cm) about the Golden age are half-ready, but I will show you the half-ready paintings soon.
